This homeowner had 2 formal English coal baskets with English burners that had stopped working. The old burner kept the controls visible and didn't have a remote control. We repainted the fireplaces and black cast iron firebacks, had custom ash covers made to hide the controls and gas line connection and installed Victor gas coal burners that feature a remote control. They're so pretty now, and much more convenient to use!
DESIGN TIP: Always paint the fireplace black with gas coals or gas logs. The fire shows so nicely against a clean black background.
