All Hargrove vent-free models operate as un-vented room heaters when used in a masonry or manufactured fireplace with the flue damper closed or with vent-free fireplaces listed and approved with Hargrove products. Olde World Basket vent-free models are dual listed and may be operated as a vent-free set or as a vented log set in a wood burning fireplace with the chimney flue damper fully or partially opened.
