Required fireplace dimensions for gas log sets

SELECTING YOUR LOG SIZE:
18"/24" LOG SET requires at least 26" front width, 17" rear width, 13-1/2" depth*. (50,000 btu input)
30" LOG SET requires at least 32" front width, 18" rear width, 13-/2" depth*. (65,000 btu input)

* Minimum depth of 15" required when using glass doors. The bottom frame on the glass doors must be no taller than 3" to prevent excessive heat in the fireplace that can damage the millivolt control mechanism.

Vented gas logs can only be installed into a functional fireplace with a chimney in good operating order. The chimney must be lined to be suitable for use with gas logs. If the chimney smokes when you burn wood, then please be aware that vented gas logs are not a suitable choice, as this could bring fumes (including carbon monoxide) and soot into your home. Please address any fireplace or chimney issues before installing vented gas logs!
